As part of the UMobile project, University of Cambridge has been building a low cost quadcopter called Cloudrone that can serve as micro data center using single board computers such as Raspberry Pis and also using lightweight OS virtualisation technologies such as Dockers. We did some successful preliminary evaluations (flying the drone at 50 feet) serving localised dockerised web content to users. We will be presenting our work at the ACM Mobisys Dronet 2016 workshop.
